Who We Are

Our History

Good News Healthcare was founded in 2003. For over ten years, we conducted clinics on Saturday mornings. We partnered with local churches to serve hundreds of patients in Southeastern Kentucky. Our clinics were run by dedicated volunteers who not only offered medical assistance but took time to pray with each patient, too. Additionally, we implemented a unique aspect where patients would sign an agreement to do something healthy or serve a neighbor in exchange for their care. That approach gained recognition and was even featured in a Paul Harvey "the Rest of the Story" segment after being picked up by the Associated Press.

Our Statement of Faith

  1. We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Deut 6:4; I Cor 8:4; Psalms 90:2; I Tim 1:17; Matt 28:19; II Cor 13:14.).
  2. We believe that the Bible is God's written revelation to humanity and that it is verbally inspired, authoritative, and without error in the original manuscripts (Il Peter 1:20-21; II Tim 3:16; Rev 22:18-19; John 17:17; Matt 5:17-18).
  3. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ: His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory (John 1:1; Col 2:9; Matt 1:23; Heb 4:15; Acts 2:22-23; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 John 1:7; 1 Cor 15:4; Mark 16:19; Heb 7:25; Matt 24:30).
  4. We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of new birth in an unbeliever and indwells believers, enabling them to live a Godly life (1 Cor 2:10-11; 1 Cor 12:11; Eph 4:30; Acts 5:34; Titus 1 Cor 6:19; Eph 5:18; Gal 5:16; Gal 5:22-23).
  5. We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, but because of sin, was alienated from God. Through faith, trusting in Christ alone for salvation, which was made possible by His death and resurrection, can that alienation be removed. This is the good news (Gen 1:27; 1 John 3:4; Rom 3:23; Rom 6:23; Isaiah 59:2; Eph 2:8-9; Phil 3:9; Rom 3:28; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 John 5:11-12; Rom 3:24; Rom 5:8; John 3:16; Eph 1:17; 1 Cor 15:3-80).

Mission & Outreach

As followers of Jesus, we are called to serve others and reconcile the world to Jesus. Let our light so shine as Jesus taught us. At Good News Healthcare Ministries, we strive to build the body of Christ through healthcare, both locally and globally.  We offer a helping hand by focusing on five outreaches.

  1. Physical health - In Southeastern Kentucky, we are creating a matching donor initiative to assist individuals with the cost of their medication or labs.
  2. Emotional and relational health - Using the Strength Development Inventory (SDI), we help team members and spouses communicate better and solve or prevent conflicts more effectively.
  3. Restoration - Partnering with the Trauma Healing Institute (THI), we offer training in healing conversations, crisis intervention, and therapeutic prayer.
  4. Instruction - We teach transformative health lessons through mentoring and small-group settings.
  5. International mission - We partner with churches and other organizations to make disciples through healthcare initiatives in some of the world's unreached regions.
